Everything we do, in one place
NotarEaseNYC is a licensed New York notary practice that notarizes documents online, comes to you anywhere in the city, files apostilles, verifies I-9s for employers, records deeds, officiates weddings and handles the paperwork around all of it. This page explains every service we offer, how we work, what things cost and the questions people ask us most.
Who we are
NotarEaseNYC is owned and run by Pearl Dehaney, a New York State commissioned Notary Public with remote online notarization authority, an NNA Certified Notary Signing Agent, and the owner of Safari Dehaney LLC, a business certified by the New York City Department of Small Business Services as a Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise. We are based in the Rockaways in Queens and we serve all five boroughs in person, Nassau and Suffolk by appointment, and the whole of New York State by secure video.
We started with one idea: a notarization should be done right the first time, on your schedule, without you having to figure out the rules yourself. Every document we touch is checked before you leave the table or close the video call, because a defective certificate is not found by us, it is found later by a bank, a court or a consulate, and by then it costs you time you did not have.
We are impartial. A notary is a public officer, so we do not take sides, we do not give legal advice, and we will refuse an act when New York law says we must. We are also human. A real person answers the phone, runs your video session and shows up at your door, and that same person is reachable afterwards if a receiving office has a question.
How we like to get things done
A few habits you will notice. Prices are on the page, and the price you see is the price you pay. We never ask for a document by email; everything is uploaded through a secure form tied to your order. Every document must be typed, because New York online notaries cannot notarize a handwritten document. We confirm or decline fast, so nothing sits in a queue. And for anything that goes to a third party, an apostille, a recording, an I-9, we tell you what that office actually requires rather than guessing.
Notary services
These are the three ways to get a document notarized with us. All three produce the same legally valid New York notarization. The difference is where you are and how fast you need it.
Documents we notarize every week
Almost any document can be notarized online in New York. The ones below each have their own page with what to expect, and they can all be started from the online notary page right now.
Free legal templates: fill, pay, notarize
For the documents people need most often, we built guided templates. You answer plain-English questions on the page, watch a progress bar fill, preview the real finished document before you pay, and then go straight into an online notarization session with the document already attached. Nothing to download, print or format. If you get interrupted, “Save and finish later” emails you a private link that reopens your answers on any device for 14 days.

Weddings
We have married more than 200 couples across New York City. If you already have your marriage license, a licensed officiant performs a personalized ceremony and signs it. If you have not started, we explain the City Clerk process and the 24-hour waiting period so you get it right the first time.
Print, scan, fax and office services
One thing a New York notary cannot do is certify a copy of a document. If an office asks for a certified copy, the agency that issued the original provides it. We can notarize your own sworn statement about a copy, which is what most offices actually accept. Read why in our FAQ.

Questions, answered
The questions we hear most, with the plain answers. If yours is not here, call or text and a person will answer.
Frequently asked
What ID do I need?
A current, unexpired government-issued photo ID: a driver license, state ID, passport, passport card, or military ID. The name on your ID must match the name on the document. For online sessions you will also answer a short set of identity questions that New York requires.
Is online notarization legal in New York?
Yes. New York authorizes remote online notarization by commissioned notaries with RON authority. A document notarized online with us is valid everywhere a traditional notarization is, including banks, courts, the DMV and consulates. The notarization is performed by a New York notary and is governed by New York law.
Can I be outside New York, or outside the country, for an online session?
Yes. The notary must be physically in New York. You can be anywhere with a camera and a stable connection. If you are abroad, your document may also need an apostille to be accepted there, and we can file that for you.
How long does an online session take?
Most sessions are finished in about fifteen minutes, including the identity check. You download the notarized PDF as soon as it ends.
Do you really come to me?
Yes. Our mobile notary travels to homes, offices, hospitals, nursing homes, closings and businesses across the five boroughs, and to Nassau and Suffolk by appointment. The travel fee is based on your zip code and is shown before you book. It is earned once we depart for the appointment.
Can you notarize a handwritten document?
Not online. New York online notaries can only notarize typed documents. If your document is handwritten, type it first, or let us type it for you through one of our templates, then upload it. In person, a handwritten document can be notarized if it is complete and legible.
Should I sign the document before the appointment?
No. For a jurat or affidavit you must sign in front of the notary. For an acknowledgment you may sign beforehand, but it is safer to wait. Bring or upload the document unsigned and we will tell you when to sign.
What is the difference between an acknowledgment and a jurat?
An acknowledgment confirms you signed a document willingly and are who you say you are. A jurat adds an oath that the contents are true, and you must sign in the notary’s presence. The certificate on your document usually tells you which one it needs. If it has no certificate, we will ask what the receiving office requires.
Can a notary refuse to notarize?
Yes, and sometimes we must. We refuse if the signer cannot be identified, does not appear to understand the document, seems to be under pressure, is signing for a company without showing authority, or if the document is incomplete, undated or has blanks. We will always tell you why and what would fix it.
Do you give legal advice or help me decide what to put in a document?
No. A notary cannot give legal advice, tell you which document you need, or explain what a document means for your situation. Our templates ask factual questions and fill in a standard format, but the decisions in them are yours. For anything that affects your rights, speak with an attorney.
Can you notarize for a family member?
A notary should not notarize a document in which they have a financial or beneficial interest, or for a spouse, parent or child in most situations. If you are a family member of the notary, we will refer you to another notary.
What if the signer does not speak English?
The notary must be able to communicate directly with the signer. We cannot work through an interpreter for the notarial act itself. We can notarize a document written in another language as long as the notarial certificate is in English and we can communicate with the signer.
What if I do not have a Social Security number?
Online identity verification can usually be completed with a government ID and knowledge-based questions. If a step cannot be completed we tell you before you pay. In person, your photo ID is enough.
Can you certify a copy of my passport, diploma or birth certificate?
No. New York notaries cannot certify copies. What most offices accept instead is your own notarized sworn statement that the attached copy is true and complete, which we can do online in minutes. For a true certified copy, the agency that issued the document provides it.
What is an apostille and when do I need one?
An apostille is a certificate from the New York Department of State that makes a notarized document valid in another country that is part of the Hague convention. You need one when a foreign government, school, bank or employer asks for it. We notarize the document, file it with the state and ship it back to you. Countries outside the convention use consular legalization instead, which we can also guide.
How long does an apostille take?
Orders are typically completed and returned in three to seven business days. If you are in a hurry, rush service adds same-day submission for $100 when you place the order. State processing times are estimates and are set by the state, not by us.
How does remote I-9 verification work?
You book and pay online. We email your new hire prep instructions. They join a fifteen-minute video call, show their List A or List B and C documents, and we complete Section 2 as your authorized representative. You receive the completed, signed I-9 as a secure PDF the same day. We do not determine employment eligibility or give immigration advice.
Which documents can my employee use for the I-9?
A passport or permanent resident card on its own, or a driver license or state ID together with a Social Security card or birth certificate, among others. The I-9 page has a document checker that tells your employee in seconds whether what they have is enough.
Can you record my deed in New York City?
Yes. We are an approved ACRIS electronic submitter. We review the documents for completeness, notarize what needs notarizing, prepare the cover pages, submit electronically, and notify you when it is recorded. Recording fees are included in the price; transfer taxes, which apply to certain documents like deeds, are set by the City and State and passed through at cost.
Do you do real estate closings?
New York is an attorney state, so residential purchase closings are run by attorneys. Where we come in is refinances, HELOCs, loan modifications, seller packages, entity signings and transactions where the borrower is in New York City and the property is elsewhere. We tell you which side of that line a signing is on before we accept it.
Can a will be notarized online?
No. In New York a will must be signed on paper with two witnesses, and we do that in person. Living trusts, health care proxies and powers of attorney have their own rules, which are explained on the estate planning page.
How do weddings work?
You get your marriage license from the City Clerk, wait the required 24 hours, and then a licensed officiant performs the ceremony and signs the license. We travel to your venue, a park, your home or a rooftop. Ceremonies start at $175 for a legal signing ceremony.
How do I send you my documents?
Always through the secure upload in your order or on the secure upload page, never by email. Uploads are encrypted and tied to your order. Scans and results come back the same way, through a private link.
How do I pay, and when am I charged?
By card through Stripe. For online notarization we place a temporary hold at booking and charge only the final amount after your session is confirmed; any unused part of the hold is released. Fax, scan, print and title search orders charge the exact total you saw at checkout. Mobile visits are paid at booking or at the appointment.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Sales are final once a service is completed. You can cancel before your appointment time, and we may allow one reschedule within 14 calendar days. Mobile travel fees are non-refundable once travel has started, apostille fees are non-refundable once processing has begun, and wedding deposits are non-refundable. For order-form services your card is only held, so if we cannot complete your order the hold is released and you pay nothing. The full policy is on the refund and cancellation page.
What are your hours?
Days, evenings, weekends and last-minute appointments. Online notaries are available seven days a week. Most bookings are confirmed the same day.
Where are you located and where do you serve?
We are based in the Rockaways, Queens. Mobile service covers Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island, plus Nassau and Suffolk counties. Online notarization serves anyone, anywhere, for documents governed by New York or accepted under New York notarization.
Are you insured and certified?
Yes. Pearl Dehaney holds a New York notary commission with remote online notarization authority, is an NNA Certified Notary Signing Agent with background screening, and carries errors and omissions coverage on every notarial act. Safari Dehaney LLC is certified M/WBE by NYC Small Business Services.
Can an agency or prime contractor contract with you directly?
Yes. As a certified M/WBE vendor, our notary, apostille, I-9 and recording services can count toward participation goals. We notarize bid bonds, non-collusion affidavits, SFS vendor forms and corporate resolutions online or on site.
What if I started a template and had to stop?
Click “Save and finish later” and enter your email. You get a private link that reopens your answers on any device for 14 days, plus a reminder at 24 and 48 hours if you have not finished. No account or password is needed.
Can you translate my document?
We do not translate. We notarize the translator’s sworn statement of accuracy, which is what most agencies require alongside a translation. If you need a translator, we can refer one.
Is “notario publico” the same as a notary public?
No. In many Latin American countries a notario is an attorney with broad legal authority. In New York a notary public is not an attorney and cannot give legal advice or prepare immigration filings. We will never represent otherwise.
How do I get started?
Start an online notarization now, get an instant mobile quote by zip code, or call or text (347) 762-0262 and tell us what you have.
NotarEaseNYC is an independent notary and document services practice operated by Safari Dehaney LLC. We are not attorneys and do not provide legal advice. We are not affiliated with any government agency. Processing times quoted for apostilles and recordings are estimates set by the state and the city. Prices shown are current at the time of writing; the price on each service page at checkout is the price that applies.
