1. Start with who you are
Open with your full name, your immigration status (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, etc.), and your relationship to the person. Credibility starts with the reader knowing who is vouching.
2. Say how long and how well you know them
State how long you have known the person and in what capacity. Longer, closer relationships carry more weight.
3. Be specific, not generic
This is the most important part. Instead of “they are a good person,” give a real example: a time they helped someone, their reliability at work, how they care for their children or parents. Specific stories are what persuade.
4. Show their ties and the hardship
